The Duke's puzzle of Longing Harmonious Innocence was what broke me... I was doing this quest with no guides and having a blast. It was tough.... But I was loving it. Then that book puzzle came up... I spent like 3 hours on it before asking my fiance. She spent about 1 hour on it. Then I finally looked it up Who the heck made that puzzle?!

While many people gripe at scaling, it’s objectively made the game better. You can go where ever whenever. And that is far better than a linear path.

Runescape world war was epic, everyone in wildy smacking, basically deadman finale, core memory.

My male character on FFXIV went months before I started literally begging people to invite me to a Guild, I could months without talking to anyone and nobody would notice me, even when I chatted in groups. The moment I spawned in the new player city on a new female alt, I had multiple whispers complimenting my looks and offering guild invites.

I also think games like Destiny and Warframe are important to look at in the MMO landscape. You get that MMO high in short bursts. You get to end game content quicker.

I have a similar story with the trimming but it's somehow more and less pathetic, I think. I didn't know how shops worked, but i knew how smithing worked, and I grinded hard to be able to build myself a full iron set, when someone came and said the exact same thing. I'm leveling crafting, do you want me to trim your iron armour. I of course said yes, even though I had never seen a trimmed iron set because this was like 2005 and bronze/iron trims weren't in . While I was CAPABLE of going and building another iron set, I stood at the varrock bank right where I traded him for like 3 hours because I thought maybe he had to walk really far away to trim it, or he had forgotten about me and might remember soon it was only the next day that i realised i was lied to, not that he had forgotten

Thankfully I think jagex is learning on this front now. The moons that came out and I barely see anyone bothering with tile markers or its very minimal. Cause the floors and mechanics are so clear compared to so many other areas in the game. ToA has some good areas for that as well, cause atleast most of the markers there are less about just doing the content at all, and more exploiting it to make things easier lol Like look at zebak, sure it could use some slightly more defined tiles, but honestly the only thing I ever felt the need to mark was the guaranteed pot location and the max range I could shoot at so I didnt move weird by accident. So much of this game could be so drastically improved if they did tile overhauls to make some things clear without the need to mark them yourself

As a lifelong wow player, it makes me really sad Blizz makes you start with what is probably the worst expansion in the game. WoD was really bad, but BFA is the only one to make me say naw and not play for 95% of the xpac cycle, only coming back for SL pre-patch to do PvP after level squish. Good on ya for figuring everything out J1m! Great video!
